The Taituki Hock Support is designed for dogs that tend to hyperextend their hocks or have straight hock conformation (for example, Chow Chows, Leonbergers, Akitas, and Bernese Mountain Dogs). In these cases, the hock does not sink too low but remains almost “straight as a stick,” which can cause the leg to give way sideways or forward when walking. This issue is most common in medium to large breeds but can also be seen in smaller dogs such as Pugs and Chihuahuas that tend to stand upright on their hind legs.
