VetaPet was not built around a ready-made business plan or an extensive product range. Our online store began with a practical need identified in the everyday work of a veterinary clinic.
It was not always easy for pet owners to find reliable products suited to their pet’s specific needs. We wanted to make expertly selected options more accessible, including to those who did not live near a large city or have access to a wide range of products locally.
Our veterinary background continues to influence how we approach pet wellbeing, build our product range and communicate about products to our customers.

A pet’s needs are influenced by many factors: species, breed, age, size, activity level, life stage, health and individual preferences.
A product that suits one pet may not be the best option for another. That is why, rather than simply offering a large number of products, we aim to provide clearly structured selections and easy-to-understand information about what different products are designed for.

The choice of a veterinary diet depends on the pet’s individual situation and any diagnosis made by a veterinarian. General product information is therefore not a substitute for a veterinary examination, treatment recommendation or follow-up care.

Clearly presented information also makes it easier to compare different options. At the same time, it reduces the risk of choosing a product based solely on its packaging, an individual claim or chance.
Our pet pharmacy brings wellbeing products together
In 2025, we launched our pet pharmacy in Finland, bringing together products that support pet health, daily care and wellbeing in one easy-to-navigate selection.
The pet pharmacy range includes products for purposes such as tick and internal parasite control.
The pet pharmacy makes it easier to find suitable products, but it is not a veterinary clinic and does not replace a professional diagnosis. A pet that is ill or showing symptoms should always be examined by a veterinarian.
We want to make this distinction clear to our customers. Providing a reliable service also means recognising situations where information from an online store alone is not enough.
Collaboration with veterinary clinics
In 2025, we began collaborating with veterinary clinics. This collaboration brings our online retail operations and practical veterinary expertise closer together.
Veterinary clinics encounter a wide variety of pets, owners and wellbeing needs every day. Insights from clinics help us understand what kinds of products pet owners are looking for and what information they need to support their choices.
This collaboration can also help us develop our product range and services in a direction that better reflects real-world needs.
Our expertise continues to grow
VetaPet has grown from a small online store operating alongside a veterinary clinic into an international pet care company. At the same time, the expertise within our team has expanded.
Alongside our veterinary background, our team now has expertise in areas such as e-commerce, nutrition, customer service, logistics, technology and international business.
These different areas of expertise complement one another. A good product cannot help a customer if it is difficult to find, its intended use is unclear or it does not reach the customer smoothly.
