The recipe includes MOS (mannanoligosaccharides) which binds potentially pathogenic bacteria preventing them from adhering to the intestinal wall and excreting them safely with the faeces. Additionally, the food contains beet pulp. This moderately fermentable fibre produces butyrate, a short chain fatty acid (SCFA) serving as a preferential energy source for the enterocytes. It promotes intestinal health and helps to regain optimal stool consistency. The overall low fat levels decrease the workload of the pancreas and in this way support the digestive function that can be compromised by GI issues. Furthermore, it helps to minimise steatorrhea.
