How is Algae Oil Produced?

Microalgae are at the top of the ocean's food chain. The omega-3 EPA and DHA fatty acids in algae first reach zooplankton and then larger fish. Microalgae are also successfully cultivated in closed, large containers on land. An oil with very high levels of omega-3 EPA and DHA can be produced through careful fermentation methods, saving water and minimizing environmental impact. It requires very little processing, and no harmful waste is generated. Oil made from microalgae is an ecological choice that reduces overfishing and protects ocean ecosystems.
