DID YOU KNOW? Older dogs experience similar memory, learning, and behavioral changes as humans with Alzheimer's disease. Symptoms in dogs typically include changes in sleep patterns, confusion, and difficulty recognizing familiar surroundings. The high omega-3 EPA and DHA content in Nutrolin® SENIOR oil provides effective support for the aging brain, while the high level of Vitamin E offers double protection for the dog.
New Composition
We have updated the contents of Nutrolin® SENIOR – the nutritional oils now better support the older dog’s needs:
Higher omega-3 DHA content
Continued high EPA content
Added Vitamin D
Added lecithin
Why These Nutrients?
Omega-3 DHA supports the function of the eyes and brain in older dogs (while EPA protects the body against age-related ailments).
Vitamin D supports immune function. Additionally, Vitamin D maintains the health of teeth and bones, as well as muscle function. Vitamin D is added to commercial dog food, but as a sensitive vitamin, it has poor shelf life in food and disappears during storage. In oil, Vitamin D has good stability. We have added a sufficient amount of Vitamin D to ensure daily intake for older dogs.
Lecithin is rich in phosphatidylcholine. Phosphatidylcholine supports the health and function of the digestive system. Nutritional oils containing phosphatidylcholine blend better with the digested food in the stomach. Phosphatidylcholine breaks down the oil into small fat particles (known as self-emulsifying oil technology), making the oil more suitable for dogs with heartburn or acid reflux than regular oils. Many older dogs have sensitive stomachs, so this is great news for them.
